Highest single-day Covid-19 figure since outbreak
Thirty-eight positive Covid-19 tests were registered today, which is twice as many as the previous single-day high of 19, registered on 16 March.
Up until today, chief medical officer Lars Fodgaard Møller has been publishing the number of the previous day’s positive tests early the following morning.
However, with close to 1,600 tests conducted today – by far the highest number since the outbreak – the announcement did not come until just after 7pm tonight.

According to Møller, most of the 54 people who tested positive this week reside in Tórshavn.
“Contrary to popular opinion, not all of them contracted the virus on the streets of Tórshavn during ólavsøka,” says Møller. “Many were infected at a private house party in Tórshavn last weekend, which turned out to be a super-spreader event.”
He adds that most of those who have tested positive this week are young people, many of whom are asymptomatic.

"I reckon that the number of quarantined people will have risen to about 700 by tomorrow."
Like other health professionals have said today, the chief medical officer is calling on everyone to conduct themselves as if they were infected, i.e. exercise extreme caution, stay home as much as possible and get tested immediately if they feel any symptoms or if they suspect they have been in contact with an infected person.
